R-SPaCE to host famed country artists to RU this spring

It’s that time of year again – Radford Student Programming and Campus Events is sponsoring a concert!

This semester’s highly anticipated concert promises to rock Radford University and its students. On March 27 at 8 p.m. in the Dedmon Center, R-SPaCE will present famed country artists Gloriana and Dustin Lynch, with special guest Brent Rupard.

Gloriana is a country music group founded in 2008, by brothers Tom and Mike Gossin, with Rachel Reinart. Their current single “Best Night Ever” is off of their upcoming album, which has yet to be announced, but is expected to be released later this year. This award-winning group has had chart-topping singles, most notably “(Kissed You) Goodnight” from their previous release A Thousand Miles Left Behind.

Dustin Lynch is an award-nominated country music artist from Tullahoma, Tn. Starting as a song writer, Lynch has worked with top Nashville songwriters, such as Dallas Davidson (Lady Antebellum’s “Just a Kiss”), Tim Nichols (Tim McGraw’s “Live Like You Were Dying”), and Casey Beathard (Kenny Chesney’s “Don’t Blink”). His 2012 debut single, “Cowboys and Angels,” co-written with Nichols and Josh Leo.

Special guest Brent Rupard is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter hailing from Shepherdsville, Ky.

It’s easy to see why R-SPaCE chose these artists as spring headliners. Their use of melody and beautiful harmonies make them stand out among other country music acts. Dustin Lynch’s songwriting skills are showcased through his singles, and his performance is sure to be a hit. Brent Rupard’s music is a refreshing look at the country genre, and compliments the other groups performing.

Tickets are $15 for RU students, $25 for the general public, and $25 on the day of the show. Student tickets are available now, while tickets for the general public will become available on March 4.

To purchase your tickets, go to the Bonnie Hurlburt Student Center, call 540-831-5420, or purchase online. Don’t miss out on a great show!
