‘I Guess This Is Growing Up’ blink-182 tribute album

A new EP tribute album for blink-182 has been released. It’s called I Guess This Is Growing Up, titled after one of the band’s most popular songs “Dammit,” and can be streamed online. It’s also available for pay-what-you-want download via the record label’s bandcamp.

The album was released from U.K. indie label Enjoyment Records, and is just volume one of I Guess This Is Growing Up, which will be a three-part tribute series. It features bands such as Lions, Invalids, Dads and We’ll Die Smiling, as well as Tir Asleen and Slingshot Dakota. All are covering some of blink-182’s more well-known songs.

While this is a tribute, the change in song style is quite obvious. Some of the bands such as Lions sound very similar to the original recordings done by blink-182. However, other bands, like We’ll Die Smiling, a tech-screamo band from Leads, show a more notable difference. Overall, the resulting album is an EP made up of six solid tracks in completely different styles from each other.

If you’re a big blink-182 fan, this album should appeal to you. Even if you aren’t a diehard fan, you’ll definitely be able to enjoy a variety of music styles and classic blink-182 lyrics. Given that you can name your own price to download it, what’s stopping you?
