The first positive case of COVID – 19 in Radford was announced Tuesday by president Dr. Brian O. Hemphill in an email to all students, faculty, and staff. The student returned to the local area following spring break and has been self – isolating at an off – campus apartment. Hemphill stated that the chances of anyone else becoming exposed to the virus are very low. The disclosed information was provided by the Virginia Department of health through the new river health district.
Hemphill has advised everyone to “place the health of ourselves and others first and foremost.” He also recommends anyone experiencing symptoms to self-isolate and seek medical treatment.
