Destiny 2: Beyond Light Expectations

James Bearden

On June 9th, 2020, Bungie, the company responsible for creating the popular Destiny series of games, announced their newest DLC plan, entitled Beyond Light. Destiny began with the first game released on September 9, 2014. However, the game has gained much popularity since then, after the creation of a second game and numerous DLC’s. My favorite DLC released by Bungie was Forsaken, which implemented new exotic weapons and never seen before game modes. Although I hold strong ties to Forsaken, I have high expectations for this new DLC. In Beyond Light, Bungie is bringing back a character that has not been seen in the game series since the first Destiny campaign, The Exo Stranger. Beyond Light was initially supposed to be released on September 22nd, but due the outbreak of COVID-19, this DLC will now be released on November 10th. In a statement released by Bungie regarding the rescheduling of Beyond Light’s release date they said, “Beyond Light is the beginning of a new era of Destiny 2.” After everything that has been released regarding this new DLC, I am beyond excited for the content and what is to come from the Destiny franchise.
